The beauty of getting your hands dirty

A person who loves the land never minds to dirty his own hands, enjoys pushing them into the granularity of the soil to feel its consistency and energy. See on your fingers the colors of nature, proof of a contact, a silent everlasting charming story. Respect for the environment, acceptance of its characteristics. As I approached this job my relationship with this land has changed.

Automatically learned maneuvers gradually became “mine”. I got to know my vines, each one with characteristics and needs. Pruning, “scacchiatura”, tying and thinning grapes became important actions to establish a silent interaction with the vines that give their feedback as they grow strong and healthy.

Therefore I approached a responsible viticulture, in respect of the environment and nature. I eliminated aggressive chemical treatments, and adopted green manure, mechanical weeding and intervened only when necessary.
